About
Who We Are At Wyoming Dance Collective
Wyoming Dance Collective is a community-centered dance studio dedicated to developing confident, disciplined, and expressive dancers through high-quality training and intentional leadership development.
We believe dance is more than movement, it is a powerful tool for building confidence, resilience, teamwork, and lifelong skills. Our studio was created to provide a supportive, professional environment where dancers are challenged artistically while being encouraged to grow as individuals.

Through structured training, performance opportunities, and a positive studio culture, Wyoming Dance Collective empowers dancers to develop technique, artistry, leadership, and self-confidence both inside and outside the studio.

Founder & Director
Lydia Allen
Lydia is the Founder and Director of Wyoming Dance Collective and the current Head Dance Coach at Laramie High School, bringing leadership, performance experience, and a strong commitment to dance education to the studio.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, providing a deep understanding of body mechanics, injury prevention, and safe, effective training practices. Lydia is also currently enrolled in the Master of Dance Studies program at Texas Tech University, where she continues to expand her knowledge of pedagogy, choreography, and the role of dance in education and community development.
With extensive experience in both performance and instruction, Lydia believes dance is a powerful vehicle for personal growth, confidence, and teamwork. Her teaching philosophy goes beyond technique, emphasizing discipline, resilience, and leadership skills that serve dancers both in and out of the studio.
Lydia is dedicated to creating positive, structured environments where dancers are challenged artistically while being supported as individuals. Through Wyoming Dance Collective, she aims to expand access to high-quality dance education in Wyoming and cultivate a studio culture grounded in technical excellence, love for dance as both an art form and a sport, and lifelong learning.
Dance Instructor
Alana Ashby
My name is Alana Ashby, and I am from Cheyenne. I have been dancing for longer than I can remember. My favorite styles to dance and teach are jazz and acro, where creativity is practically unlimited. My journey as an instructor began in high school when I started assisting with baby ballet classes. I deeply missed that experience when I transitioned to college, which motivated me to continue teaching and share my passion for dance with others.
Currently, I am studying elementary education with dreams of teaching kindergarten. I truly love working with little ones, but I find joy in teaching students of all ages. It is rewarding to inspire and nurture their artistic abilities. In addition to my teaching responsibilities at the studio, I assist with the Laramie High Dance Team three days a week. I focus on teaching them lifts, tricks, and choreography, while they keep me informed on the latest trends and slang.
I look forward to sharing the joy of dance with you and helping students reach their full potential!
