Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I enroll my child in dance classes?
Studies show that dance connects movement with sociological, creativity and academic benefits. Dance teaches self discipline while also boosting self esteem. Dance teaches and allows self expression while also broadening their knowledge of music, movement and athletic development.
What is the minimum age to enroll in classes?
We allow enrollment for dancers as young as 18 months in our "Dance with Me" classes. These classes allow for parent/guardian participation while students get familiar with the studio and dance.

Do you offer adult classes?
Yes! We offer a variety of adult dance classes including Adult Ballet, Adult Lyrical, Dance Fitness, and Modern! These classes are structured for dancers ages 18+ to allow for proper curriculum and environment to foster and inspire the love for dance in adults!
What is your year long schedule?
Wyoming Dance Collective runs on three different seasons Fall, Spring and Summer. We structure our schedule a year in advance to accommodate both classes and holidays. We will NOT be following the ACSD1 calendar in terms of development days or other associated closures. Our holiday schedule will be communicated well in advance to allow for proper planning of both our students and their families as well our staff.
Wyoming weather can be unpredictable. The safety of our dancers and families is our priority. In the event of severe weather or emergency conditions, Wyoming Dance Collective may cancel classes. Closure decisions will be communicated via email and/or the studio communication platform. If conditions improve throughout the day, evening classes may still be held.
Make-up classes may be offered when feasible but are not guaranteed. Tuition is not prorated for weather-related closures, as tuition reflects enrollment in the program and overall seasonal operating costs rather than individual class attendance.
Fall Season - September 1st through December 31st
Spring Season - January 1st through May 31st
Summer Season - June 1st through August 31st

What classes and styles do you offer?
We offer classes in a variety of styles with multiple levels! We offer ballet (levels 1 -4), music exploration, pointe, lyrical/contemporary, modern, pom, hip hop, acro (beginning, intermediate and advanced levels), dance fitness, dance with me, and jazz (levels 1-4). Our levels allow us to teach curriculum based dance from beginners to advanced level dancers!
Is there a dress code for classes?
Yes! Dress code is specific to level and class. All required dress code information can be found in the class description as well as in the code of conduct. Requirements for hair style are also noted in the class descriptions and code of conduct. Following hair and dress code requirements are necessary to teach dancers proper dance technique and etiquette and to limit distractions.

Are performances required? How much are costumes?
Performances are not required but highly encouraged! To participate in recital you need to confirm participation by December 1st of the current dance year.
Costume fees for the 2026 - 2027 dance year are as follows:
Classes Levels 1 and 2 - $75
Classes Levels 3 and 4 - $100
Acro Classes - $100
Adult Classes - $125
Should my child take more than one class? Is there a limit to the number of classes one can take?
We recommend taking at least two classes a week for retention of skills and consistent progression of technique, flexibility and strength. For dancers under 18 that are interested in enrolling in jazz, modern, or contemporary/lyrical we require enrollment in ballet as well. We offer multi class discounts as well as multi dancer discounts. At Wyoming Dance Collective we recognize the science and literature that supports multi style training and the benefits of doing so.

How does tuition work?
Dancers ages 18 and under enroll in classes that are billed monthly. Monthly tuition is based on total classes each month per student. Tuition is due on the 5th of each month. Payments can be made online via Dance Studio Pro Parent Portal, via check, via cash, or via card in person. Auto-pay is highly encouraged but not required.
Please Note: There are no refunds for missed classes. Make-up classes may be offered (studio discretion). Tuition remains consistent regardless of holidays.
We offer early payment discounts, multi-class discounts and multi-dancer (in the same family) discounts. Our goal is to keep classes affordable while also providing the best dance education for each student.
There is a seasonal non-refundable registration fee.
Adult dancers (ages 18+) are able to purchase punch cards and schedule drop-ins or enroll in monthly classes.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes! Students are able to register for a trial of a class through their account with Dance Studio Pro. Trial classes do have fee. Students are only allowed one trial class per specific class. Trial classes are for level evaluation as well as allowing for dancers to see if style and teacher is a good fit for them!

Do you allow drop-ins?
Students can drop-in for classes but they MUST be scheduled via the DSP parent portal PRIOR to class starting. Some classes have time limits on how close to class time they can be scheduled. There is NO LIMIT for how many drop-in classes a student can do, although it is more cost effective to enroll in class than continue to schedule drop-ins. Space for drop-ins in NOT guaranteed. If a class is full the ability to schedule a drop-in will closed.
Drop-ins will be closed for dancers 18 and under starting December 1st of the current dance year to allow for proper preparation for recital and other performances.
Adult classes will be open for scheduled drop-ins all season as long as class size limits are not reached.
